“Prequel to Jason Beck aka Chilly Gonzales’s 2004 release Solo Piano. The Canadian born artist who has collaborated with the likes of Peaches, Feist, Buck 65, Daft Punk and Jamie Lidell, recorded this selection of solo piano works during a 10-day session in 2011 in Paris’s Studio Pigalle. The tracks on this release were selected from the hundred or so melodies that the artist has written since the release of the last solo piano album. It’s a lovely, sometimes sombre collection of compositions, hovering somewhere between Ludovico Einaudi and Yann Tiersen.”
