Dark Sky – Othona

Another gem from Monkeytown Records by the talented London duo Dark Sky . Othona is full of lush tones and impressively crafted synth work. There is good array of thick heavy sound palette as well as some levity and playful electronic craft that comes off slightly more delicate. One thing that really stands out on this album is a sense of contrast. Regardless of the styles and categories incorporated in the album all the tracks seem to made with an understanding of drama and timing. From slow ambience to well articulated swells that wash through the listener, it is truly a well plotted journey of an album.
