Dominik Eulberg – Mannigfaltig

Part time park ranger and internationally renowned electronic producer Dominik Eulberg’s most recent LP is a beautiful and heartfelt homage to local biodiversity and the natural systems that keep it in place. The concept for Mannigfaltig (translated to “many fold” in English) came about while Eulberg was hiking in his hometown of Westerwald. On his hike he came across a butterfly known as Goldene Acht, or golden eight, due to the pattern on its wings. As Eulberg ruminated on the endless variations of the local wildlife he began to see that many animals had numerical names, from 1 – 12. These creatures, and their sequential names, became the inspiration and structure for the album. There is also an audio commentary that was released alongside the album that provides information about each animal and its corresponding track. There is also an illustrated memory card game.
