“AS009 comes courtesy of Dopefist, his first outing on the Altered Sense label. Served up as a double LP across eleven tracks, it’s his most substantial work to date having made his debut in 2019 on Gated Recordings. Dopefist takes a multitude of vintage hardware sounds across a slew of tempos. ‘MR2’ is a slice of uptempo, uplifting melodic techno-meets-electro, with a subtle symphony of interweaving melodies dipping in and out. ‘BB Boys’ is a slo-mo house groove, the kind which Space Dimension Controller used to run out early on. Tastefully built electro with soft acid tones for early night dancefloors.”
