Created at the start of the pandemic in response to a love-filled night on the beach with Maya, its acid line rips through the centre of the classic Eris Drew ornamental keyboard orchestrations, just as the special night ripped open her heart and filled it with love during a really hard time. ‘Stars & Water’ is Octo Octa’s response to the same experience. It is beautiful and gentle with a bassy reprise written by her in a dissolved state. In Octa Octo’s words ‘It hopefully moves one’s body but also their heart.’ ”
