John Roberts – Spill EP

The title track “Spill” is like Kabuki drumming meats dubstep that turns to dark cello solos and then to free jazz with an 808 kick somehow worked in. It’s an insane and absurdly unique 8 minute track. The following two tracks take a more direct approach to their aesthetic. “Wrecked” is a plucky arpeggiated charmer and the closing track “Fluid” ends us off with swirling and reverberating trumpet solos punctuated with rich layered synthesis. Music as risky as this deserves an ear and for the curious listener it is well worth indulging in.
